Nigel Hack |
Born and raised in England, Nigel first came to live in Spain in 1992, having finished his studies at the Universities of Nottingham and Cambridge. In 1997, he left his post as a history teacher in a prestigious British school returning to renew his enduring affair with Madrid. It wasn't however until the following year that the "& Beyond" was added when he set up the company, - Madrid & Beyond.
There are few areas of Spain that Nigel has not visited, and in a constant quest to offer clients private access to unique places, people and experiences, he is seldom found at home at weekends.
Over the last few years, Nigel has also travelled in Asia, Africa, Central and South America and, in 2005, ran the New York marathon. Food, wine, film, tennis, football, novels and chess keep him busy when he 'relaxes'.

| Favourite Special Experience: |
A morning visiting the wineries of Jerez de la Frontera, discussing the art of wine making with the owners, followed by a seafood lunch in El Bigote restaurant in Sanlucar de Barrameda, overlooking the sea. |
| Favourite Hotels: |
Can't say here, for fear of upsetting too many hoteliers! Ask me via e-mail! The Finca Cortesin is right up there! |
| Best meal: |
A seafood restaurant in the tiny fishing village of Cudillero, on the coast of Asturias.
Also pintxos in San Sebastian... fabulous! |
| Favourite Monuments / Museums: |
The Mezquita in Cordoba
The Alhambra in Granada
The Thyssen Museum in Madrid
The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao |
| Favourite Fiesta: |
It has to be the biggest and the best - the festivities of San Fermines in Pamplona although I will never forget the fiestas of Trujillo in 1993 which played a part in keeping me in Spain. |
| Favourite Escape: |
There are so many but if close to Madrid, then almost anywhere in the province of Cáceres, Extremadura. In spite of the extraordinary variety of landscapes and historic villages here, there are still so few tourists to the region. |
