A Private Cooking Class in Barcelona
Enjoy a culinary day with an expert Catalan chef who manages to enchant and entertain while delivering exacting instructions, introducing you to emblematic Catalan dishes. Catalan cava and wines, mainly from the DO Priorat and Montsant regions, are poured and paired with the food.
The day begins at one of the most spectacular markets in Europe, the historic and atmospheric “La Boqueria” in the heart of Barcelona. Feast your eyes on the fabulous array of stalls offering foods of every kind… tropical fruit, fresh seafood, sausages and Iberian ham, countless cheeses, meats, the freshest vegetables, dried fruits, nuts, sweets with hidden delights, breads, pastries… Together with your chef, you’ll shop for a few key ingredients for the day.
Return to the chef’s nearby apartment and, after opening a bottle of wine, launch yourselves into a hands-on cooking class consisting of three dishes and desert. Your charismatic chef will teach you the basic techniques used in Catalan cooking, as well as some of its important dishes. All this takes place in an informal atmosphere with the emphasis on enjoyment.
Lunch consists of the dishes you prepare, paired with excellent wines from the Priorat/Montsant region.
Don’t expect to leave before late afternoon, as your chef and hostess always relishes the “sobremesa”, the post meal conversation.
