The Camino de Santiago or The Way of St James is the ancient walk that pilgrims have been treading across northern Spain for more than a thousand years, with Santiago de Compostela – and, as the legend goes, the long forgotten tomb of the apostle James – as their final destination.

Following scenic country roads, agricultural fields and forest tracks as well as crossing villages and towns born of the Camino de Santiago, there are few, if any, better ways to enjoy Spanish art, history, culture and local people than on this increasingly popular route. In the last twenty years this monumental route has struck a chord not only with pilgrims but also walkers from all over the globe with diverse backgrounds and motivations.

Clara Moreno walked, biked and organized countless trips along the Camino for a decade with small groups from North America before joining Madrid & Beyond. She knows the Camino like few others - the most scenic routes, the most charming properties, the most authentic restaurants and of course, the best and most experienced guides.
